Singing kirtan

Welcome to our community heart space.

Once a month we gather in person as a community with the shared intention to focus our energies and unite as one voice to create a positive sound healing field within ourselves, our Whanau & the wider community.

This mantra (Maha Mrityunjaya) holds the power to shift physical & mental states and strengthen positivity. Chanted through the ages it still holds its potency for us today. This is chanting 108 times followed by uplifting kirtan - collective singing of mantras.

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra Lyrics in Sanskrit and English.
ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् |
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात् ||

Aum Tryambakam yajaamahe sugandhim pushtivardhanam |
Urvaarukamiva bandhanaan-mrityormuksheeya maamritaat ||

Chanting & singing mantras through kirtan connects us to a sense of that which exists beyond the grip of the senses and ever changing states of the mind.  It's not necessary to be a good singer or to try to understand the mantras at an intellectual level.  The best experience can be had by just being open and receptive to the waves generated by the mantras.  Immerse in a positive wave and let go of unnecessary concerns.

First Sat of each month: 2023 Dates

06 May, June 03, July 01, Aug 05 then resumes in November.

Community Based Meditation

I have been a student of yoga & meditation for many, many years and a teacher now for the last 7 years. I've been blessed with the most amazing teachers from various traditions who have each given me special gifts. I was so lucky to begin my 500 hour teaching journey with Pragyadhara this January in a restorative yoga, breathing and yoga nidra course at Kawai Purapura. This and the proceeding study have provided the gateway to the most phenomenal shift in my personal practice and teaching.

Pragyadhara embodies yoga for me. A font of traditional wisdom imparted with deep humility and expertise.

I am grateful for the opportunity I had in working with Pragyadhara. I will be back for more. You should too.
